01 Regular Exterior Detail

Wheels Hand Washed, Contacted wash with pH Neutral soap

02 Clay Bar Treatment

Clay barring removes embedded contaminants from the paint that washing can't, ensuring a smooth and clean surface. This step is essential for proper bonding of the ceramic coating

03 Iron Remover

Iron remover is used to dissolve embedded iron particles, like brake dust and industrial fallout, that can't be removed by washing alone. This ensures the paint surface is fully decontaminated, allowing the ceramic coating to bond properly and last longer.

04 Acid Wash

An acid wash is used to remove mineral deposits, water spots, and any remaining alkaline residues from the paint surface. This step ensures the surface is chemically balanced and completely clean, allowing the ceramic coating to bond more effectively.

05 Polishing/Paint Correction

Polishing or paint correction is done to remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and any remaining old waxes or sealants that the chemical stage couldn't get rid of, restoring a clean and flawless finish. This ensures the ceramic coating bonds properly and locks in a smooth, defect-free surface for maximum durability and shine. Before Polish/Paint Correct we use a Clear Coat meter to ensure you have enough clear coat to be able to polish or paint correct, if your clear coat is too thin we would not recommend Polishing or Paint Correcting

06 Applying the Ceramic Coating

We apply ceramic coating by carefully spreading it onto the paint with an applicator pad, allowing it to bond, then leveling and wiping it off after a short curing time. While we primarily apply it in a controlled garage environment for best results, it can also be done outdoors if the weather is dry, cool, and dust-free.

The coatings we use cure quickly, so your vehicle can be driven and exposed to water just 1 hour after the coating is applied.

C6 Lifetime Ceramic Coating

Does ceramic coating prevent scratches?

Ceramic coating can help reduce light wash-induced marring and chemical staining, but it does not prevent rock chips, deep scratches, dents, or collision damage. For impact protection, paint protection film is a different service.

Do I still need to wash a ceramic-coated vehicle?

Yes. Ceramic coating makes washing easier and reduces dirt adhesion, but regular maintenance is still needed to remove contaminants and maintain hydrophobic performance.

Is paint correction included before ceramic coating?

Yes. Every Z-Auto Detailing ceramic coating package includes paint correction and polishing as part of the preparation process. How soon can I drive my car after ceramic coating?
